local homeless
shelter
helps man become
inspiration
Life
had clearly presented Chuck with challenges, including amputation of
both legs that forced him to depend on a wheelchair. Other unfortunate
circumstances led him to Northlands Rescue Mission, a United
Way-funded agency that provides food, shelter, clothing and other
assistance to poor, needy and transient men and women.
The
Mission proved to be an answer to Chuck’s prayers. In addition to
forming special relationships at the Mission, Chuck received help from
its outreach coordinators, who connected him with the necessary social
and medical services.
Chuck often
commented on the wonderful community and its open heart. He was so
grateful that he became an inspirational man who taught others to
appreciate what they had. Chuck successfully moved on with his life
and presently resides in Indiana where he owns his own home and
mechanic business.
