United Way funded scholarships at the YMCA give Jan* peace of mind
while she works and attends classes to get her degree, because she
knows her kids are receiving quality child care while learning and
developing in a safe environment.
The Big Brother/Big Sister Program at the YMCA provided her three
children with the positive adult role models they needed after an
abusive divorce.
Jan’s* oldest son has thrived the most. He was struggling in
school, but through his mentor tutoring him at home and making friends
at the YMCA basketball program, his performance and social skills at
school have greatly improved.
